Direct booking

A booking channel that belongs to you

A marketplace listing rents your property. A direct channel builds your business. 1Melo gives every property a booking page of its own — and an embeddable form for the website you may already have.

Two ways to book direct

Two ways to give guests a direct path to book

Use the website you already have, or use ours. You do not need both.

On your 1Melo Direct Listing

No website required. Publish a Direct Listing for a property — your photos, description and amenities, with the booking calendar already built in — and share the link anywhere: an email signature, a card in the property, a QR code in the welcome book, a social profile.

On your existing website

Already have a website? Embed the 1Melo booking widget straight into it. You control exactly which websites are permitted to embed it, so nobody else can put your booking form on their page.

The booking engine underneath is the same. Your availability, pricing, rental terms and payment flow stay connected in 1Melo whichever route a guest arrives by.

What a guest actually sees

  1. A calendar of real availability. Dates already taken — by a marketplace booking you imported, by a direct booking, or by a block you set — simply are not selectable. The calendar shows that a date is unavailable and never why, so nobody can read your occupancy patterns off a public page.
  2. An itemised quote. Nightly rates for the dates chosen, then fees and taxes listed separately, then the total. No surprises at the end.
  3. A short hold while they fill in details. The dates are held briefly so they cannot vanish mid-form, and released automatically if the booking is abandoned.
  4. Your rental terms, if you publish them. Acceptance is recorded against that booking with the exact wording used at the time.
  5. Payment, if you have connected PayPal. Completed on PayPal's side; 1Melo records the result.
  6. A confirmation page and email they can return to, plus a private link to message you.

What you get on the other side

The reservation lands in your list with the guest's details, the dates, the guest count and the exact charges they agreed to. Those charges are stored as a snapshot: change your rates next month and a past booking still reads exactly as it was quoted.

The dates close immediately on your calendar and go out on your outbound iCal feed, so the marketplaces you have connected pick them up on their next fetch.

Nothing the browser sends is a price. When a booking is submitted, 1Melo recalculates the whole quote on the server from your stored rates before writing anything. A tampered form cannot buy a stay cheaply.

Taking bookings yourself

Not every booking arrives through a form. You can enter one directly and record whether it came by phone or was arranged some other way. It runs through the same availability and pricing rules, so an entry you make cannot conflict with a booking you already hold.

Why it matters

More than another way to take a reservation

Control how you sell the stay

Your rates, your seasons, your minimum stays, your fees. The offer a guest sees is the one you designed, not one shaped by a platform's rules.

Build repeat guest relationships

The guest's details and the conversation stay with your business, so a good first stay can become a direct booking next year instead of another commission.

Your policies and your rental agreement

Cancellation terms, refund rules and house rules are the ones you publish, accepted at booking and stored word for word with the reservation.

Centered on your business

The booking page, the confirmation and the message thread all lead with your property — the business a guest remembers dealing with is yours.

Questions

Direct booking questions

Do I need my own website to take direct bookings?

No. If you do have a website, you can embed the 1Melo booking widget into it. If you do not, you can publish a Direct Listing — a property page hosted by 1Melo — and put its link in an email signature, a QR code in the property, or a social profile. The booking engine underneath is the same either way.

What stops a direct booking from double-booking a marketplace stay?

Two things. Imported iCal dates block your booking page, and availability is re-checked inside the booking transaction itself rather than only when the page was loaded. A stay that conflicts is refused at the moment of booking, not afterwards.

Can guests pay when they book?

Yes, where you have connected a PayPal business account. The payment is completed on PayPal, so card details never reach 1Melo, and the outcome is verified against the booking total before anything is marked paid.

Can I take a booking over the phone?

Yes. You can enter a booking yourself and mark it as taken manually or by phone. It goes through exactly the same availability and pricing checks a guest booking does, so it cannot create a conflict.

Can I ask guests to accept rental terms?

Yes, per property, and it is optional. If you publish terms, a guest must accept them to complete a booking, and the exact wording they accepted is stored with that reservation — so later edits to your template never change what a past guest agreed to.
